We Play Music

Both the boys love listening and dancing to music. They love boogying along in the car to the Wiggles or Abba and Bub in particular likes to try and make his own music whenever he gets the chance. His favourite is drumming (on anything and everything) but he also likes to blow the recorder or harmonica, tinkle on the piano and shake maracas.
I'm not sure the neighbours appreciate his musical experimentation but it is much nicer than listening to him drumming a tune with his feet on the dinning room table or with his hands on the glass patio doors! What music are you and your children enjoying this week?“Come over and play at the Childhood 101 We Play link up”

  1. We just made a toy drum out of an old tupperware container, some black beans and a couple knitting needles with beads on the ends of them. Endless entertainment. We switch between kids music and mama music and we both enjoy it all! xo m.

  2. Princess has also always loved music, both playing it, creating it and moving to it.

It's been fun, as she has grown up, to listen to her create her own songs and sing them in a tune. She had us all laughing at my parents house the other night when she would ask us if we knew a song, and then would sing one she was making up as it went along!

  3. I love hearing kids tinker away on a real piano :) My little girl thinks it's fabulous too.

  4. My four grandsons(ages:12,9,8yrs. & 19mon. were all enjoying our old piano and two keyboards last week. The older three were playing a tune when I realized the 19 mon. was keeping the beat on the piano keys. Music is enjoyed by all ages.

  6. Your Bub looks soooo happy on the piano. But I have to admit the kids playing at music is one of my least favourite games - especially the saucepans.

  7. You've reminded me that Immy hasn't gotten out her instrument basket for quite a while now. Time to pop it in her path again, I think!
